✚ for a HEALTH headcanon

Selina’s never really had any health problems, nor many allergies. However, she is allergic to one food. Pineapple. She abhors it, both the taste and the smell, so perhaps it is a good thing that she can’t eat it. It’s not a deadly allergy, thank god. Harley may or may not have fed it to her once without her knowledge, and Selina’s face and throat began to swell. Not enough for her airways to be obstructed completely, but enough that she keeps a epi-pen at her apartment. She’ll probably sent a fast fist into your face if you offer her pineapple.

Happiness. Selina’s not really sure if she’s ever felt happiness before. Born into a family where happiness was never abundant nor even a comprehensive factor to her life. Her father was a man who told her she was worth nothing but a girl to be sold off, that she was not beautiful except for when he touched her. He beat her when she did wrong in his eyes –– when she didn’t, and he breathed icy gooseflesh onto the tender skin of her stomach long before she had even reached the age of ten. Happiness was an alien concept to Selina. Even now, when she is asked about happiness; she is unable to really say anything. She’ll say she’s okay, that she’s alive and that’s all she needs. She will smile –– genuinely if you’re lucky, and she will be content. It’s all she asks for. It’s all she dares to ask for, because she cannot define happiness. And besides, good things don’t last for people like her. Why should the concept of happiness be any different?

† for a RELIGION headcanon

In a way, Selina believes in a higher power, but at the same time she doesn’t. She counts herself as an agnostic –– and she has no desire to change her religious views any time soon. In Gotham, gods among men are often counted as people whom she treats as her allies and friends. God can’t save you in Gotham.
