hiding spot didn’t seem very accurate, given that selina wasn’t trying to do so at all. but she acquiesces, sure steps carrying her across the museum’s rooftop. her infrared goggles pick up the sleek figure of the other cat, a pretty silhouette in the bright outside lights. how rude of her to drop in uninvited. it sparked a feeling of territorial pride in selina’s chest to see someone else doing what she did, in a city that had been her home for as long as she could remember. gotham wasn’t exactly out of the way for other creatures of the night, but nevertheless, it was well known information whose turf this was. gotham had never been the biggest of targets either, despite being such a large city. new york, paris, the attractions of the world; those were places where fellow thieves might have more a chance of meeting. but no, unpredictability was a mistress that claimed many, and selina could only admire the chances of this encounter.
flinty eyes emerged from behind red-tinted lenses, goggles flipping up to become the distinctive cat ears that now adorned her hair. the black bag in the other’s hand is of interest, the knowledge of her escaping prize already wrapped up and taken. quite like her guest to take a party gift before the host arrived. selina didn’t begrudge her that. she was near enough to make out the other woman’s features now, mouth curving upward in a smile. similarly, she wanted no misunderstanding or skirmish between them. this could be solved quickly.
